Go is an open source programming language designed for building simple, fast, and reliable software. Please read the official documentation to learn a bit about Go code, tools packages, and modules.

Writing a basic HTTP server is easy using the net/http package. More info here

Alpine Linux is a Linux distribution built around musl libc and BusyBox. The image is only 5 MB in size and has access to a package repository that is much more complete than other BusyBox based images. This makes Alpine Linux a great image base for utilities and even production applications. Read more about Alpine Linux here and you can see how their mantra fits in right at home with Docker images.

Quickstart

It's very easy, if we just have to copy and paste this code and everything is ready.

$ sudo docker run -d -p8080:8080 xaviblanes/golang-http go run server.go

Try it at localhost:8080

Enjoy my image
