⁠SQL Server 2025 Windows Container (Preview)

Base image for WorkflowGen SQL Server containers on Windows.

⁠Purpose

• Contains SQL Server 2025 Preview/RC (installs as Enterprise Evaluation Edition)
• Includes Full-Text Search
• Supports vector datatypes for WorkflowGen v10 semantic search
• All Enterprise features available

⁠Edition Note

SQL Server 2025 Preview installs as Enterprise Evaluation Edition (180-day trial). This provides all Enterprise features needed for development and testing. Developer Edition cannot be explicitly specified in Preview releases.

⁠Not for Direct Use

This is a base image used by advantys/workflowgen-sql.
Most users should use advantys/workflowgen-sql instead.

⁠Licensing

• SQL Server Enterprise Evaluation Edition
• FREE for development and testing (180-day evaluation period)
• NOT licensed for production use
• Requires EULA acceptance (ACCEPT_EULA=Y)

⁠Version

• Current: SQL Server 2025 RC1
• Status: Preview/Release Candidate
• Build: Windows Server Core ltsc2019

⁠When SQL Server 2025 GA Releases

This Preview repository will be superseded by SQL Server 2025 Express Edition in the advantys/mssql-server-windows-express repository.

For WorkflowGen v10 (after GA):

• Recommended: Use advantys/mssql-server-windows-express:2025-win-ltsc2019 (Express Edition)
• Express Edition is FREE and suitable for both development/testing AND production

This repository is temporary for Preview/RC period only, while Express Edition is not yet available.
