⁠What is Cassandra?

Apache Cassandra is an open source distributed database management system designed to handle large amounts of data across many commodity servers, providing high availability with no single point of failure. Cassandra offers robust support for clusters spanning multiple datacenters, with asynchronous masterless replication allowing low latency operations for all clients.

⁠Purpose:

The Cassandra Image has been modified so that the Cassandra server running inside the container can be accessible by other applications(python applications). It has some extra packages that I found useful while using the containerized Cassandra server like:

1. vim
2. htop etc
