Ersilia Model Hub Identifier: eos1soi
5.8K
Identifies compounds able to kill uropathogenic Escherichia coli that has stopped dividing, a state in which most antibiotics lose their effect and which underlies recurrent infection. Kaldalu and colleagues screened 6,454 approved drugs and clinical candidates in dilution-regrowth assays, which register killing and delayed regrowth rather than growth inhibition. Ersilia trained a LazyQSAR classifier on the 37 compounds active in diluted cation-adjusted Mueller-Hinton broth at pH 7.4; fluoroquinolones dominate them, so the active chemistry is narrow and anchored to repurposing space.

| Name | Type | Direction | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| nongrowing_antimicrobial_rank | float | high | Rank score of the compound's predicted ability to kill non-growing uropathogenic Escherichia coli or delay its regrowth. Calibrated against 50K compounds from the Ersilia reference library so that a score of 0.65 is better than 99% of them. Recommended threshold: 0.65. |
